A New Day for a Non-White Jesus? Archbishop of Canterbury Says It’s Time
As a person who attended Catholic school for 12 years of my life, I’ve never seen an image of Jesus that didn’t resemble a man with bright blue eyes and long brown hair. After centuries of the same images, it’s safe to say it’s time for a new reimagining — and the Anglican Church agrees.
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church of England, said that it’s time for us to think of a new way to portray Jesus, especially in light of the recent Black Lives Matter protests.
