That’s from Brianna Holt, a writer who penned an essay about losing friends in the wake of George Floyd’s and Jacob Blake’s death. Perhaps fake friendships were going to end anyway this year. But 2020 certainly helped things along, didn’t it? At the end of the day, being an active anti-racist is something any friend or ally must commit to and recommit to on a daily basis. As we review the year that’s past, perhaps Holt’s piece can spark ways to be better friends or allies going forward.
