Black history is American history and the more we can get behind that the better off we all will be. And now that Black History Month is upon us, the editing team at Momentum is eager to see what personal stories, family stories, and little known historical stories or analysis are sitting in the back of your mind, ready to be told.

Got something to say about the fallacies of the Trump history commission? Have at it. Was your grandfather or great aunt a Black inventor whose inventions changed our lives forever? Tell us about it. Tell their story, tell us why it’s important right now, and provide links to your research if appropriate. Do all that and we might select it to be featured in Momentum and across Medium.

Simply write your story in draft form, tag it #hidden history or #hidden herstory and email a link to the draft to the editors at Momentum. Several publications at Medium are participating in this Black History takeover that will last long beyond February. We change the narrative when we tell our stories. Submit to momentumeditors at medium dot com.

Momentum is a blog that captures and reflects the moment we find ourselves in, one where rampant anti-Black racism is leading to violence, trauma, protest, reflection, sorrow, and more. Momentum doesn’t look away when the news cycle shifts.
