I usually keep up with the post-Coachella music news, but I somehow missed the Rolling Stone article in which Donald Glover, known by the rap name “Childish Gambino,” was releasing his penultimate album. As someone who has been a part of this fandom since I was a teenager, I was shocked and saddened at the idea that there would come a time when Glover would no longer be “Childish.”

Over the weekend, I returned to his mixtape roots as I awaited the reveal of “Atavista,” his latest album. While listening to the song “Do Ya Like” from his Culdesac mixtape on YouTube, I noticed a series of new videos suddenly appeared on Glover’s Vevo account. Once I clicked, I discovered the surprise release and got ready to explore each song.
