It wasn't enough that Harlan Crow took Clarence Thomas and his wife, Ginni, on a lavish vacation yearly. Possibly excluding the year, Clarence went to the men-only retreat in Sonoma County, California, with a history of public urination. I could go into a rabbit hole on that alone, but I don't want to take the focus away from the fact Clarence Thomas has been held hostage by Harlan Crow for nine years.

In 2014, Harlan Crow bought the home that Clarence's mother lives in, purportedly to one day turn it into a museum honoring the nation's second Black Supreme Court Associate Justice. We'll set aside that Crow paid $133,363 for a two-bedroom, one-bath home that Thomas declared his 1/3rd ownership was worth $15,000. Crow then made $36,000 in improvements, including adding a carport and a fence. Crow bought two surrounding properties…
