Dozens of Black Ex-Franchise Owners Sue McDonald’s for Racial Discrimination

A new lawsuit filed Monday claims that McDonald’s sent Black franchise owners on a “financial suicide mission” by pressuring them to open stores in undesirable neighborhoods.

The lawsuit, which aims to collect more than $1 billion in total, essentially asserts that Black franchise owners were not given the same freedoms and opportunities to operate the franchises compared to their White counterparts.
