If being an ally means being active in the fight against oppression and systematic racism, then allyship is certainly welcome, but Catherine Pugh explains the problem with offering “support” when the issue is yours to fix. “Racism is not ‘ours.’ It is yours. And it is yours exclusively,” Pugh writes. “Black folks did not build Black hate, and we certainly did not build it with you.”
