Here are the top lines:

  • Nationwide, 92% of Black women and 86% of Black men voted for Joe Biden, according to the poll. The support of the Democratic presidential candidate also intersected every age group.
  • In two states under tense scrutiny for ballot-counting practices — Pennsylvania and Georgia — the percentage of the Black vote that went in Biden’s favor was 93% and 90%, said Henry Fernandez, who is a principal with the African American Research Collaborative and a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.
  • The Covid-19 pandemic was front of mind for Black people as they cast their ballots. Due to the physical impact that the virus has had on them personally or through friends, 55% of Black voters cited the coronavirus as the top issue they believed lawmakers should tackle.
