“In an interview with CBS News’s Catherine Herridge, Trump called the death of George Floyd, a man who died in late May after a white police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes, ‘terrible.’ The death led to nationwide demonstrations protesting systemic racism among law-enforcement officers. But Trump, who frequently criticized and attacked protesters, appeared to dismiss the idea that anti-black racism is a problem among America’s police departments.”

That’s from an analysis that ran in the Washington Post. In it, WashPo reporter Eugene Scott lays out the most recent history of what the president has done and said when it comes to police brutality.
