Wakanda Series Will Come to Disney+ Thanks to Ryan Coogler’s 5-Year Deal
Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther, Creed, and Fruitvale Station, has signed his production firm, Proximity Media, into a five-year deal with Disney.
Coogler will make a show centered around the Kingdom of Wakanda for Disney+, with the potential to develop other projects outside of the Marvel Universe as well, according to The Verge.
We don’t know too many details about the upcoming show, but it will likely arrive after Black Panther 2, slated to come out in May 2022. The studio has committed to not replacing Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, either through recasting or in CGI.
