I just read some very disturbing news from the U.S. about another racially motivated attack. Reading an article about Mr. Zacharia Doar, a young Palestinian American man who was stabbed (by Bert James Baker) near the University of Texas — Austin [this past Sunday] brought hurt to my heart.

The short version of what happened — according to the report by The Associated Press,

Doar was one of four Muslim Americans who were [riding in a truck] displaying support for Palestine when (as per the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)), Baker allegedly tried to rip a flagpole with a keffiyeh scarf reading ‘Free Palestine’ off of their vehicle. CAIR said the four had previously attended a pro-Palestinian protest.

An arrest affidavit said that Baker, who was on a bicycle, rode up to the truck Doar…
